Devoted to scholarly analysis and investigation of Medieval and Renaissance stained glass

Fragments in Forest Lawn

Six lots of individual pieces of glass survive, in addition to the leaded panels already catalogued. These lots, nos. FL 1-6 comprise nearly five hundred pieces of glass, most of which come from windows that did not survive the fire at Forest Lawn.

Fragments from ten lancets, can be detected in the surviving debris. With careful examination a few parts may yet be reconstructed to give some idea of their original appearance.

Illustrated here are the lost windows as they appear in the Hearst catalogue, paired to the surviving fragments. Since the windows were not catalogued recently, the Hearst number is given.
