In addition, there are four panels containing some ancient fragments: two (SG 4 and 5) are comprised of 16th-century French/Flemish and modern heads (37 x 26.5 [14 1/2 x 10 3/8]); two (SG 6 and 7) are made up with some 15th-century English quarries and border elements, including crowned initials ‘M’ and ‘I,’ around a made up shield and ornamental rosette (150 x 44.5 [59 x 17 1/2]). Their provenance is also from Roy Grosvenor Thomas, and S. Vernon Mann, part of lot no. 253 in the Mann sale.
